In April 2007, 2nd Swing Golf opened its doors for business out of a few thousand square feet of retail space in Minneapolis. The humble store sits only minutes from the University of Minnesota, where company founder Simon Kallal had the idea to build a golf retail company centered around service and selection.
When they were not assisting customers on the store floor, early 2nd Swing employees crammed into the windowless lower-level room that doubled as a support office. However, as clubs flew off the shelves above them, the company took off.
Now based out of its headquarters in Eden Prairie, Minnesota, 2nd Swing employs over 340 people and operates six stores across five states. Boasting a 4.9+ Google rating and partnerships with every major equipment manufacturer, 2,200 PGA professionals, and 55 of the top 100 golf courses in America, what was once a dorm room dream is now the top-rated golf retailer in the country.
